So, Karen, How is Wealth Therapy different from Financial Advice?

Wealth Therapy involves thinking. Deep thinking. Not about where you want to go on holiday, your next choice of car, or when you want to retire – your financial plan will, no doubt, address those things and we will build them in to your objectives. This approach is about uncovering a bigger question – Why?

Each purchase has emotion or a motive behind it right from paying our rent to switching to the latest iPhone. Our purchasing habits have been built over time from observing the behaviour of our parents, from spending time with our peers and from our own emotional triggers and expectations.

People who choose Wealth Therapy often do so because they feel their money just disappears and they never have anything left for the things they would love to do. Or, because they keep spending more than they earn and feel they are ‘bad with money’. Or sometimes they just lack confidence in dealing with their finances. Modern life is busy and we are bombarded with information on how we should live our lives. The way we live can leave us with emotional gaps and this in turn can make us more vulnerable when it comes to money. Our subconscious spending patterns are the key to unlocking a brighter financial future. It’s time to stand back and take a fresh approach.

We can all get caught up on the treadmill of life, we just keep going and hope that one day we will be able to realise our dreams. Those dreams can become a reality much sooner by taking a different approach. Uncover what’s holding you back and start making changes to enable you to live better and regain control of your money. Don’t just let life happen to you, embarking on a Wealth Therapy journey can turn things around.

I was having a discussion recently with a group of friends and we were talking about motivation and developing a sense of urgency. One of the guys chipped in that he had recently read an article that said we had just 4,000 weeks on average on this earth. I whipped out my calculator, I have passed the 3,000 mark, a sobering thought. Now 4,000 weeks equates to an age of around 77 and I am an optimist but even so! My point is, wherever we are in our journey, there will be an end point and the aim of Wealth Therapy is to ensure you reach that point feeling that you had a fulfilling and worthwhile journey.

However much (or little) money you have, even if you’re constantly in the red, Wealth Therapy can help you change your thinking and start enjoying the rest of your 4,000 (+/-) weeks. Typically, clients initially have sessions every 3-6 months whilst they get used to the new way of thinking, with support in between. The journey is yours and we will go at your pace. Call today or drop me an email to book your initial 30 minute free consultation to see if Wealth Therapy could help you change your relationship with money.
